Sean Durrant

Sean's Background

Sean represents clients throughout Wyoming. Because even a brilliant idea can get lost in substandard prose, Sean enjoys the art of carefully and precisely writing policies, briefs, and research memos, and crafting and negotiating contracts for his clients. He has successfully negotiated contracts for his clients with such companies as: Alpha Coal West, Arch Coal, EOG Resources, Peabody Energy, PacifiCorp, Basin Electric Power Cooperative, WyoDak Resources, Buckskin Mining, Dry Creek Coal, Devon Energy, Anadarko, Merit Energy, PreCorp, and many others.  Sean has represented clients in front of several state and federal administrative agencies, including:  MSHA, OSHA, the Wyoming State Board of Control, and the Wyoming Public Service Commission.  He has appeared in all court levels of the State, including the Wyoming Supreme Court.  He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court of the District of Wyoming.

Sean's Personal Info

Sean grew up in Mesa, Arizona, where he graduated from Mesa High School.  He graduated from Arizona State University in 1988.  As he considered which law school to attend, he was drawn back to Wyoming, perhaps by his Durrant/Peterson family roots in western Wyoming. Nonetheless, after visiting the beautiful law school campus at the University of Wyoming, he was hooked!

After graduating from law school in 1992, Sean and his family chose to stay in Wyoming, and settled in Buffalo, which is nestled at the foot of the Big Horn Mountains.  Sean often looks up at those beautiful lofty peaks and wonders when time will permit him to be fishing, hunting or hiking in the mountains.  Don’t tell anyone, but if Sean’s office phone goes to voice-mail, he may be doing just that...!
